Bio

A seasoned educator with 19 years of experience instructing English, history, and elective courses, I am excited to work in the area of guidance and counseling.  A love of people and the school atmosphere led me to a career in education.  Some of the most important role models in my life were my teachers.  I wanted to inspire students as those teachers inspired me.

I have lived in Headland, Alabama my entire life.  A graduate of Headland High School, I was honored to spend the bulk of my career teaching there as my two children attended.  Wanting to expand my career, I applied for the position of counselor here at Slocomb High School. I slowly find myself feeling at home in REDTOP country!

I married my high school sweetheart, Jack Lawrence. Together we have two children, Tyler and Carlie.  Tyler is currently in his sophomore year at Faulkner Community College in Bay Minettte where he is pitcher for the Sun Chiefs. Tyler plans to transfer to the University of Alabama or Auburn in the fall and pursue a degree in Civil Engineering. Carlie is a senior at Headland High School.  Carlie plans to attend either the University of Alabama or UAB in the fall where she will pursue a degree in a pre health care. Carlie plans to  become a densitst. Jack and I are more than proud of our children, and we know we have been blessed well beyond what we deserve.

My goal is to assist the students, faculty, and administration at Slocomb High school in any way that I can to make this school the BEST. I will work hard to make the transition for our students into the world after high school an easy and successful one.  GO REDTOPS!!
